Georgia Shepherd
Head of Business Development and Fundraising

Georgia began her career as a professional dancer with The Queensland Ballet and Graeme Murphy’s Sydney Dance Company. She went on to work as rehearsal director and assistant choreographer with Bangarra Dance Theatre and Chunky Move, and to produce her own dance shows for children. With a young family she moved to the Blue Mountains with her husband to create the chef’s-hatted and highly celebrated Solitary Restaurant which they ran for eleven years in a sublime location overlooking the Jamison Valley.

Georgia returned to Sydney and began a career in arts administration at Bangarra in 2012. At Sydney Theatre Company she developed her interest in working with philanthropists who share her passion for the powerful and positive impact that the arts and artists have for our community. From 2017 to 2023, she built a robust philanthropy program at Sydney Film Festival (SFF) and in 2021, was appointed Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, managing critical stakeholder relationships across government, corporate partners and donors. She comes to Piano+ at an exciting time for the organisation as it seeks to diversify income streams and expand its program of events.
